SCR Awards

South Central Region has added 3 additional categories to Awards. The Outstanding WOC (ET) Nurse of the Year has been awarded since 1988 and the President’s Award since 2004. Members will now have the opportunity to nominate individuals in the categories of:

   Rookie of the Year

   Educator of the Year

   Manufacturer/Vendor of the Year

Outstanding WOC (ET) Nurse of the Year Award

  Presidents Award

Criteria have been developed by the SCR Board for each of these awards. In common to each of these new awards is the fact that an individual may be nominated at anytime throughout the year as long as they meet the deadline.  Deadline is set at 6 weeks before Regional Conference.  The deadline is tied to regional conference for two reasons:

ž    Winners of Rookie of the Year and Educator of the Year receive FREE regional conference registration

ž     Winner of the Manufacturer/Vendor Award will be recognized at Regional Conference with a certificate of appreciation and a blue ribbon for their booth. In addition, they will receive free ad on the SCR website and an ad in the quarterly 5 Alive for one year.

Nominations from facilities of all sizes and all along the continuum of care from Home Health to Acute Care are encouraged. For those who work in rural areas or settings where they have no WOC Nursing peers, they may nominate themselves as Rookie or Educator of the Year, if appropriate.
